The Goonch! - A Shadowdark adventure

The Mudfoot halflings need help!

The giant catfish known as the Goonch is believed to have lived in the Grandfather River for centuries. The Goonch is a terror, devouring bathers or fisherfolk when he can and even the occasional unwary cow or sheep that comes down to the river for a drink – and more often all the time.

The town of Big Bend relies on Mudfoot halflings from miles around visiting for all the various holidays on the busy halfling calendar. But word of the Goonch’s increased viciousness is threatening to keep visitors away.

To save Big Bend, the halflings need heroes to catch, kill or otherwise dispose of the giant catfish known as the Goonch! Local fishing guide Jonnycakes has a boat and will lead the fishing expedition, but he’s going to need additional crew to help him with the giant catfish and bring it back to Big Bend for the 300 gold piece reward and celebratory fish fry.

The Goonch! is a simple pointcrawl fishing adventure for old school RPGs. It uses the rules for Shadowdark, but should easily be converted to any game mechanically inspired by TSR’s most famous roleplaying game.

It includes simple rules for fishing in Shadowdark.

Note: This is a near-final draft adventure with no art and no layout. The adventure will be updated with each and cost $1 in future.
